Key Responsibilities:

  • Register and book patient appointments, ensuring accurate and timely scheduling.
  • Interview patients to gather medical information and update patient records.
  • Confirm patient visits and provide clear instructions and information.
  • Support business office functions, including general office administration, payroll, accounts receivable, and bank deposits.
  • Enter scheduled orders and maintain data quality.
  • Utilize the Cerner Patient Information System to manage patient data and perform various administrative tasks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient administrative processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing policies, procedures, and regulations affecting patient care and administrative operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or post-secondary medical secretarial education or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of PM Access training and testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient service or administrative role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence).
