Position Overview:

Challenger Geomatics is seeking a dedicated land surveying Survey Party Chief. This role involves collecting field data and collaborating with experienced project managers on diverse survey assignments, including legal and construction surveys. The Survey Party Chief will lead the survey crew, ensuring all objectives are met efficiently.

This position will involve travel to various project sites across northern Canada. Candidates should be prepared for travel and will have opportunities to engage in various projects, enhancing their career through our training and development programs. Relocation assistance is provided.

General Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys and collaborate closely with the Project Manager to fulfill client objectives.
  • Provide essential documentation to office staff, including field notes, computations, and other survey data.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols as outlined in the company's safety procedures.
  • Utilize survey equipment (GPS/GNSS Rovers, Total Stations, Locators, etc.) proficiently, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of all company equipment and vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Geomatics or a related field, along with prior survey experience.
  • Experience in the energy sector or construction is advantageous.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Possession of valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S, First Aid, CSTS, Wildlife Awareness) is a plus.
  • Physical fitness is essential, as the role involves outdoor work in challenging conditions, often requiring the transportation of equipment over long distances.
