Job Summary:

Volaris Group is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Specialist to join their team. As a member of the Software Assurance Team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Volaris' business units' security by detecting and addressing software vulnerabilities before they are exploited by malicious entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive security testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications developed by Volaris business units
  • Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and create detailed reports on identified weaknesses, including their overall impact, steps for reproduction, and recommendations
  • Utilize advanced testing techniques, frameworks, and tools to evaluate security posture and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop custom security tools, exploits, and automations when necessary to support the security testing process
  • Provide expert-level support to Volaris business units with inquiries related to the Invicti web app vulnerability scanning platform

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background, with experience in software development highly valued
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or general-purpose programming language
  • Familiarity with common web application vulnerabilities, including XSS, SQL Injection, and SSRF
  • Comfortable navigating the Linux command line interface and utilizing various security tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a remote environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork
