About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Manager to join our team at Seasons Retirement Communities. As a key member of our senior living community, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our residents with dementia and cognitive impairment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and orient new residents, ensuring a smooth transition to their new home and providing ongoing support as their health care needs change.
  • Lead and direct the Memory Care service team, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional care and service delivery.
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll, budgeting, and staff hours within the Memory Care department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Recruit, hire, and train care staff, empowering them to work to their full potential and providing ongoing support and guidance.
  • Develop and implement a structured daily activity program, promoting a healthy lifestyle and person-centered care for our residents.
  • Provide support and responses to resident and family inquiries and concerns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with Resident Assessments/Service Plans (PCC) and follow Seasons and RHRA Regulations, maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, families, and staff.
  • Manage risk through regular care-related audits, Retirement Home Regulatory Authority inspections, and Public Health inspections.
Requirements
  • Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current Safe Food Handler's Certification.
  • Progressive or supervisory experience in dementia care/cognitive impairment, with a focus on positive management techniques.
  • Progressive or supervisory experience in the healthcare industry, with working knowledge of resident engagement programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a focus on the healthcare sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on promoting exceptional care and mentoring the Memory Care team.
  • Ability to create meaningful programs and activities for our Memory Care Residents.
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in dementia care, gerontology, kinesiology, or rehabilitation from a recognized educational institution, or relative professional equivalency.
  • Class G driver's license with a clear driver's abstract.
