We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian 2 to contribute to our healthcare team.
This position requires a registered Dietitian who will provide essential nutritional services to a designated client population.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough nutritional evaluations and create, implement, and assess personalized nutritional care strategies for assigned clients. Design, coordinate, and deliver educational resources tailored for diverse groups, offering nutritional guidance and individualized counseling to clients and their families. Deliver nutritional and therapeutic counseling, including follow-up consultations and home visits as necessary. Engage in program development and strategic planning initiatives, as well as research activities.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Active registration with the College of Dietitians of BC. A minimum of two (2) years of recent relevant clinical experience in a mental health environment, including counseling for various client demographics and addressing eating disorders, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel, as needed.Skills & Competencies
Understanding of recovery principles in mental health. Extensive knowledge of clinical dietetic principles and practices within a client-centered care framework. Familiarity with the standards of practice and guidelines set by the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. General awareness of Trauma-Informed Care and Harm Reduction strategies. Proven ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Capacity to deliver competent and culturally safe care across various settings and populations. In-depth understanding of the nutritional needs associated with eating disorders in children, youth, and adolescents. Comprehensive knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition. Awareness of other healthcare disciplines and their roles in client care. Familiarity with research methodologies and processes. Proven ability to evaluate client responses to care plans and adjust accordingly. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, clients, and external organizations. Demonstrated capability to develop and implement nutrition care plans aligned with client and family priorities. Proficiency in managing conflict situations effectively. Adaptability to new or unforeseen circumstances. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Teaching and consultation skills. Leadership and direction capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Proficient in operating relevant equipment and techniques pertinent to clinical practice. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work locations, may vary based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
