Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a seasoned Director of Government Relations to lead our strategy and engagement with federal and provincial government stakeholders in Canada. As a trusted advisor to our Executive Vice President, Government Solutions and Corporate Affairs, you will drive integrated campaigns to support corporate business priorities, including government funding, regulatory approvals, export advocacy, and other policy areas.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective advocacy campaigns for key business priorities requiring Government advocacy or approval.
  • Position Westinghouse effectively in the broader public policy community and ensure the Company is among the leading industry voices for key legislative and policy priorities.
  • Proactively identify and secure new opportunities for Westinghouse for government funding or support.
  • Represent Westinghouse interests in ministerial-level meetings.
  • Oversee Westinghouse's enterprise participation in outside business councils and trade associations.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in government or private sector dealing with energy issues.
  • Expertise in dealing with high-profile stakeholders, including elected officials, foreign government officials, executives, and external constituencies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian government agency policies and workings.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex policy issues and develop innovative strategies and solutions.
