Pharmacy Technical Assistant Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in the delivery of pharmacy services, including data entry and refill request processing.
  • Maintain and control the cash register in the dispensary, accurately handling transactions and managing inventory.
  • Prepare and submit orders, excluding controlled drugs and narcotics, and adjudicate third-party billing.
  • Provide superior customer service, answering phone calls and referring to pharmacists as needed.
  • Manage incoming faxes and accurately file completed documentation.
  • Enter and maintain data within pharmacy systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Registration with the corresponding provincial licensing college.
  • Diploma from a Pharmacy Technician College.
  • Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
