Opportunity: Sanitation Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Specialist to join our team at our new facility in Surrey. This role is essential for maintaining a clean and safe working environment within our greenhouse operation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the sanitation team to ensure thorough cleaning of both interior and exterior warehouse areas, adhering to established protocols.
  • Perform conventional and organic cleaning procedures on production lines, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, following instructions, offering support, and contributing suggestions for improvement.
  • Actively participate in all required training programs related to sanitation, health & safety, and food safety. Maintain strict adherence to company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as prescribed by safety guidelines.
  • Operate various machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, scissor lifts, weed whackers, vacuums, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers.
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks and the breakdown of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by company procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of related work experience in a sanitation role is preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work independently with minimal supervision. Take ownership of assigned tasks with a strong sense of professionalism and integrity.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, rules, and regulations, particularly those related to health & safety and food safety.
  • Handle all chemicals safely and responsibly, following prescribed procedures.
  • Work diligently to minimize damage to company equipment or property.
