School Vice-Principal Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Vice-Principal to join our team at School District No. 73 (Kamloops/Thompson). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the academic and administrative aspects of our schools, ensuring a high-quality education for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate teaching methods and quality of instruction to ensure academic excellence.
  • Develop and administer programs for student education and training, aligning with provincial standards.
  • Oversee the activities of teachers and support staff, promoting a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Co-ordinate teaching activities, ensuring effective curriculum delivery and student progress.
  • Direct and co-ordinate school maintenance, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Prepare and administer the institution or program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Review programs to ensure conformance to school board or provincial standards, promoting continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Provincial teacher's certificate.
  • 5 years or more of experience in education leadership or a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
