About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fuel Hauling Driver to join our team at AFD Petroleum. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting fuel products to our customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment and load, ensuring safety and roadworthiness.
  • Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, driver's hours of service, and occupational health and safety.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, checking vehicle position and special loading equipment.
  • Check vehicles before driving to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Operate equipment such as truck mike phones to exchange information with dispatch, managers, or other drivers.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status, following provincial and federal regulations.
  • Record and maintain required documentation, including driver logbooks and bills of lading.
  • Communicate effectively with the public, government officials, customers, and co-workers.
  • Perform minor roadside repairs, such as lights, loose fittings, and airline repairs.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience in fuel hauling or 2 years' experience driving Super B or related equipment.
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in a Class 1 Driving Capacity with hauling liquids.
  • Professional operation of manual transmission is mandatory.
  • Valid Class 1 license with 5 years clean abstract.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and email required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • H2S Alive, First Aid, and CFA – CPPI certifications considered an asset.
  • Positive attitude and ability to follow safe practices.
  • Experience with off-road, mountain, and winter driving.
  • Basic knowledge of apps on the phone and e-logs.
  • Capable of performing minor maintenance and repairs on trucks if needed.
  • Ability to reset on the road if required.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pass a drug/alcohol test, criminal background check, and 50lb fitness test.
