**Job Summary**

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our team. As a key member of our retail sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including store policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, including handling customer complaints and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area, ensuring a well-stocked and organized store environment.
  • Follow up on hot selling items and complete markdowns and SKU changes as needed.
  • Maintain planograms, labels, tickets, and signing standards, ensuring a visually appealing store environment.
  • Perform cycle counts as required, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing losses.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.
  • Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, including proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure loss prevention best practices are followed, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activity.

  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, colleagues, and management.

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position include standing and/or walking, bending, twisting, and squatting, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.). The position also requires the ability to perform tasks involving firm grasping, repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions, and reaching above shoulder height and below waist level.

Keyholder Premium (If Applicable)

As a keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, ensuring all areas are tidy and secure, and completing end-of-shift tasks. You will also be responsible for receiving deliveries, starting up registers, and unlocking and disabling the alarm system.
