We are on the lookout for a Sales Manager specializing in Corporate Travel & Groups to enhance our esteemed team. This pivotal role involves comprehensive account management aimed at achieving strategic sales objectives, particularly focusing on group travel arrangements (10 rooms or more). The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to acquiring new business opportunities for Shangri-La Vancouver.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE : 75K - 85K (incentive eligible position)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Uphold the highest standards of luxury service, ensuring an exceptional sales experience for both guests and colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with the events team to optimize the use of meeting spaces for group functions and catering events.
  • Exhibit creativity and a strong commitment to achieving sales goals while embodying gracious hospitality.
  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and execute initiatives to meet or surpass sales targets, focusing on securing corporate and luxury group bookings.
  • Identify and prioritize new account prospects, leveraging market insights and networking opportunities for both immediate and long-term growth.
  • Implement effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve and exceed sales objectives.
  • Manage key corporate accounts and travel agencies, ensuring successful navigation through the RFP process.
  • Communicate the luxury value proposition through presentations, familiarization trips, site inspections, and participation in industry events.
  • Engage in sales missions, conferences, and promotional activities both domestically and internationally.
  • Foster strong relationships with Shangri-La's Regional Sales Offices and sister properties to facilitate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, ensuring a luxurious experience throughout the sales process.
  • Prepare and deliver timely reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing, including insights on market trends and competitive analysis.
  • Maintain open communication with all hotel departments, participating in regular sales and revenue meetings.
  • Keep accurate sales records, including detailed action plans and reports.
  • Represent the hotel professionally at community and industry events.
  • Ensure adherence to all hotel policies, standards, and core values.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience with proven results.
  • Experience in a luxury brand environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Vancouver market is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for trade shows and conferences.
  • Must possess a valid passport without restrictions.
