POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Journeyman Electronics Technician will play a crucial role within the Maintenance Department, tasked with resolving electrical challenges and executing preventative upkeep on all Calfrac machinery. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this position emphasizes the repair and maintenance of all Calfrac equipment in alignment with company standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to all company safety protocols, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines Conduct repairs and maintenance on all Calfrac electrical systems and components Manage all recording and control software Process updates and modification requests Perform regular preventive maintenance Assist in the scheduling and budgeting for repairs Mentor apprentices and new team members Develop a foundational understanding of fracturing and coiled tubing operations Attend all pre-job meetings and safety briefings as required May require remote field work ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND SKILLS: Flexibility to work various shifts (including night and day shifts) Uphold and enforce safe work practices, codes, and regulations Proactive self-starter, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a keen attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication abilities Inspire others to achieve high performance standards Work effectively under physically demanding conditions Capable of drafting reports and collaborating closely with maintenance administration Experience in making prompt decisions while remaining composed in high-pressure situations with minimal supervision Proficient in operating process control equipment Mechanically inclined This role is classified as Safety Sensitive and may necessitate additional screening This position has specific physical requirements and may require further screening (refer to the applicable Physical Demands Profile) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Accredited technical diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation or completion of Journeyman Instrumentation Certification 4-6 years of relevant industry experience Advanced comprehension of technical concepts is essential. Solid understanding and experience with basic hydraulic systems Familiarity with electric over hydraulic/air and PLC is considered advantageous Knowledge of electronic control systems, QA-QC, and troubleshooting is preferred.
