Early Years Talent Acquisition Specialist

The YMCA of Three Rivers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our EarlyON program, you will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality early years professionals to maintain high-quality EarlyON programs, services, and environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the early years sector.
  • Collaborate with the EarlyON leadership team to support their hiring needs and ensure a consistent and objective recruitment process.
  • Build community connections to increase our talent pool by researching and contacting community services, colleges, universities, social media, and internet sites.
  • Full-cycle recruitment from posting job applicants to screening, interviewing, and evaluating candidates, conducting reference checks, and presenting offers.
  • Organize and project manage the recruitment process and tracking within EarlyON.
  • Act as the point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  • Collaborate with the EarlyON leadership team to support a consistent quality onboarding experience for EarlyON professionals at all locations.
  • Organize, plan, and facilitate onboarding training across EarlyON locations for all new employees and on request for current employees.
  • Collaborate with the EarlyON leadership team and YMCA on the recruitment, volunteer postings, screening, interviewing, and evaluating volunteer candidates, including conducting reference checks and onboarding training of volunteers.
  • Support the onboarding of student placements within the EarlyON system from placement request to onboarding, to monitoring experiences of EarlyON professionals supporting students, and the students themselves with the intent of recruiting students into employment opportunities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year's experience in recruitment, early years sector administration, or human resources.
  • Strong attention to detail and completion of processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Early Learning and Child Care sector and understanding of the legislative requirements for qualified staff in the Early Learning Sector.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification, successful completion of Vulnerable Police Records Check within the last 6 months.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, Internet, email, applicant tracking systems, and database management.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building a sense of belonging.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Basic fluency in another language, such as Arabic, Tigrinya, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Turkish, would be an asset.
