Job Title: Information Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Officer to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. As an Information Officer, you will play a key role in defining the information and communication objectives and programs for our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advisory services to the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay and its departments.
  • Develop, update, and implement communications and dissemination plans to support the organization's objectives and initiatives.
  • Document and analyze various data, situations, or problems to propose specific actions or intervention methods.
  • Write and coordinate the production of various communication tools, including brochures, videos, and press releases.
  • Participate in the development and updating of multimedia platforms, including websites and social media.
  • Identify, write, and adapt content for various internal communication tools, such as newsletters and intranet.
  • Act as an editor by updating the website, intranet, and social media as needed.
  • Establish a close link with the person responsible for media relations if they are part of the communication strategy.
  • Collaborate in the organization and execution of events involving the institution and partners by providing the required communication support.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and compliance with communications policies, programs, and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A terminal bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the area of organizational communications or public relations.
  • Good knowledge of the Health and Social Services Network.
  • Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, and ability to prioritize competing critical deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships of trust with internal and external collaborators.
  • A great deal of autonomy, versatility, and thoroughness.
  • Great concern for customer service.
  • Creativity.
  • Knowledge of the Office 365 suite of software, experience with CMS platforms such as Drupal, and knowledge of best practices in managing social media and web platforms (strong asset).
Language:
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.
