Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and individualized care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • One year of acute clinical care experience within the last 3 years, with a satisfactory employment record.
  • Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration, as well as active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance with Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
