Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior Manager to join our team at Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our tax accounting and compliance team, you will be responsible for providing strategic input into business decisions and making recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on tax accounting and compliance matters, including tax provisioning, return filings, payments, and audits.
  • Develop and implement tax-related technical and accounting solutions and tax reporting advice.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect and provide tax information for related accounting entries, support tax provision, compliance, audits, etc.
  • Monitor compliance with tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service, including preparing and supporting the preparation of accounting entries, reconciliations, reporting packages, and financial statements for tax provisions, payments, and returns.
Requirements
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Accounting designation required.
  • Working knowledge in the application of corporate taxes for the assigned jurisdiction(s)/portfolio.
  • Working knowledge in the application of tax accounting concepts.
  • Working knowledge of specialized tax return software.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth/Expert.
  • Influence skills - In-depth/Expert.

BMO Financial Group offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $187,200.00, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
