Senior Tax Manager Opportunity

Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality tax planning, services, and advice to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review complex Canadian individual and corporate tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff.
  • Review and approve technical research and tax planning recommendations for private companies.
  • Deliver high-quality tax planning, services, and advice.
  • Work closely with Tax Partners and other senior staff on business tax compliance, tax provision, and tax advisory engagements.
  • Build and manage client relationships at a senior level within core hours of 9:30 to 4 and identify client service opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Master of Tax Program.
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience with a tax specialty.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Canadian tax-related issues and of GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize, and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • A passion for tax work.
