Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Head to join our team at Holcim. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment and installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and policies for electrical maintenance personnel.
    • Establish a safety culture and implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries during maintenance activities.
    • Contribute to plant housekeeping and cleanliness.
    • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure effective and efficient operations, including measures to prevent and detect fraud and protect company resources.
  • Maintenance Operations:
    • Plan and schedule corrective and preventive electrical, instrumentation, and automation maintenance in coordination with mechanical and preventive maintenance teams to ensure proper functioning of equipment and installations.
    • Ensure the electrical maintenance team is fully prepared to respond to emergencies or urgent breakdowns.
    • Contribute to the development and planning of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance actions and plans to ensure long-term proper functioning of equipment and installations in cooperation with production and process departments.
    • Prepare weekly and daily maintenance plans (work orders) according to preventive maintenance plans or scheduled corrective maintenance actions.
    • Coordinate and supervise the execution of work order activities, failure data gathering, time confirmation, and material withdrawal, and ensure the quality of work execution.
    • Manage the execution of maintenance activities by third-party contractors.
    • Collaborate with production and process departments, mechanical and preventive maintenance teams to execute complex maintenance actions.
    • Contribute to non-waste cost (NWC) optimization by identifying critical parts of electrical equipment, proposing optimal stock levels of spare parts, and identifying remaining lifetimes of critical electrical equipment.
    • Develop measures to extend lifetimes and establish replacement planning in line with cost targets and project management plans.
    • Support the production manager in optimizing energy consumption.
    • Provide technical requirements and support supplier qualification and evaluation for electrical maintenance services contracting.
  • Management - Planning & Cost Control:
    • Support the maintenance manager in the elaboration and control of the maintenance budget, ensuring planning and follow-up of costs.
    • Implement effective and systematic solutions to achieve budget targets and meet or exceed performance metrics.
  • Standards:
    • Communicate and implement regulations, company goals, local permits, policies, and procedures to optimize internal processes and structures.
    • Supervise personnel to apply standards consistently and ensure ISO compliance for related activities.
    • Respect Cement Industrial Framework (iCIF) and Maintenance Management System (MAC) standards and follow up on monthly and weekly MAC targets (KPIs and SPIs).
  • People Management:
    • Monitor the performance of electrical maintenance personnel (internal and external).
    • Develop, inform, and motivate the team, ensuring competencies and skills development according to technical innovations, plant, or personal needs.
    • Train and coach the maintenance team on maintenance best practices.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute to reliability analysis, root cause analysis execution, and actions follow-up.
    • Coordinate the development of standard operating procedures for repetitive activities.
    • Explore new techniques and technologies to optimize electrical maintenance costs and improve the technical condition and functioning of installed equipment.
  • Qualifications:
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
    • 3-5 years of experience dealing with production or maintenance.
    • Experience in heavy industry preferred.
    • Experience applying FMEA techniques and knowledge of basic problem-solving tools.
    • Experience in people management.
  • Knowledge and Competencies:
    • Knowledge of cement production processes.
    • Knowledge of CIF (Cement Industrial Framework), MAC (Maintenance Cement), Holcim Asses Code (HAC), CbM (Computer-based Monitoring), Project Management Approach (PMA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Cost Basics preferred, FMEA Concept.
    • Strong knowledge of basic electrical maintenance tasks (motors, drives, power and control systems, instrumentation, automation systems) preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects), Google Docs Editor (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive), SAP (PM, MM, PS, CATS), and TIS.
