Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities, tell stories, teach songs, and take children on educational outings to promote learning and development.
- Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress, including their daily activities, meals, and sleep patterns.
- Child Development: Engage children in activities that promote their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, including crafts, games, and outdoor play.
- Health and Safety: Ensure the health and safety of children by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, and adhering to licensing regulations.
- Behavioral Guidelines: Establish and enforce guidelines for behavior, promoting positive relationships among children and staff.
- Certifications and Training: Possess an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing regulations.
- Security Clearance: Hold a basic security clearance and undergo a criminal record check.
- Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Willingness to train and develop skills in early childhood education.
- Work Setting: Child care centre, day care centre, or nursery school.
- Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication, reliability, and teamwork.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
