Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyperson Welder to join our team at FLINT Corp. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality welds in a fast-paced open-pit mine environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications to ensure precise welds.
- Defect Detection and Correction: Recognize defective welds, understand their causes, and apply the necessary repair procedures to maintain quality standards.
- Welding Operations: Safely and effectively fuse metals using prescribed welding applications, adhering to industry quality and production standards.
- Quality Assurance: Perform tasks in alignment with industry quality and production standards, ensuring every weld meets the highest standards of quality and precision.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Hold a Journeyperson Welder ticket, demonstrating expertise in the field. A B-Pressure ticket is a valuable asset, showcasing welding prowess. Possess CWB certification as a testament to welding skills.
- Education and Experience: Bring prior shop and field experience, demonstrating versatility and adaptability. Understand metals, arc electrodes, welding gases, and gas welding filler rods, showcasing comprehensive knowledge.
- Physical Demands: Manage heavy materials and stand for extended periods while working in a team environment. Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job, including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.
- Communication Skills: Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
