Pharmacist - Long Term Care Specialty Pharmacy

About the Role
CareRx is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in a Long Term Care Specialty Pharmacy setting. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and safe dispensing of medications, while providing exceptional patient care and promoting therapeutic appropriateness.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data, and clinical reviews
- Provide professional functions related to dispensing, including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, and liaising with other healthcare professionals
- Supervise and lead the dispensary team while on duty
- Evaluate the appropriateness of prescription orders, considering patient safety and legal requirements
- Complete third-party adjudications necessary to complete prescriptions
- Coordinate and supervise the non-sterile compounding and dispensing of drugs according to medication orders
- Blister pack checking and pouch packaging dispensing system checking
- Maintain confidentiality and protect personal and organizational information
- Work collaboratively and support the efforts of team members
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- Experience with KROLL Pharmacy software an asset
- Injection Certified
