Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Authorised Person to join our High Voltage Operations and Maintenance team at Renewable Energy Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain and improve safety standards.
  • Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.
  • Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions.
  • Prepare, issue, and cancel safety documents.
  • Carry out switching, isolation, and earthing duties.
  • Act as Control Engineer.
  • Prepare switching schedules.
  • Manage the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as required.
  • Produce and review method statements and risk assessments.
  • Produce maintenance plans for HV equipment.
  • Maintain the asset register.
  • Manage and/or deliver planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment.
  • Produce final reports.
  • Undertake troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment.
  • Carry out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training.
  • Keep in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAP.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as DNO/NGT and asset owner.
  • React to emergencies, site outages, and changing circumstances.
Requirements
  • HV Safe Systems of Work.
  • Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules.
  • Detailed knowledge of HV equipment.
  • HV maintenance practices including HSG230.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of offshore working.
  • Electrical Engineering HNC or equivalent industry experience.
