We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Underwriter who is committed to delivering outstanding service to clients, advisors, and partners. The High Net Worth Team at Sun Life is looking for professionals who excel in a collaborative setting that emphasizes continuous enhancement and exceptional experiences for affluent clients.
As the Director of High Net Worth Underwriting, you will be instrumental in assessing insurance applications and determining risks for sums up to $200,000. Your proficiency in evaluating medical and financial risk elements will enable you to make informed underwriting choices and effectively relay these decisions to the appropriate stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize comprehensive underwriting knowledge to make competitive evaluations
- Negotiate internal assessments with reinsurers
- Convey decisions to advisors and medical professionals
- Foster strong connections with business leaders and distribution teams
- Identify opportunities for enhancement and offer strategic recommendations
- Promote a positive team atmosphere through innovation and professional growth
- Outstanding analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Client-focused and results-oriented approach
- In-depth understanding of medical and financial risk factors
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adhere to deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners
- 10-15 years of experience as an Individual Life Underwriter
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications
- Specialized training in underwriting certifications
