Position Overview:

  • Oversee a team of Middleware and UNIX Experts dedicated to the operation and upkeep of Middleware Systems for Tangerine Bank.
  • Administer, optimize, and maintain UNIX systems, servers, and associated components to ensure the high availability and security of business applications.
  • Engage in the formulation and execution of policies and procedures to guarantee that system maintenance aligns with organizational objectives and industry standards.

Success Criteria:

  • Proven experience in capacity planning and strategic goal setting for Middleware and UNIX systems.
  • Collaboration with diverse technical teams to deploy systems that fulfill organizational goals.
  • Responsibility for Disaster Recovery Planning and incident management for the systems under your supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for all managed systems.
  • Deliver technical support services and resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and enhance system performance.
  • Establish and manage production service level agreements.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop team members while conducting regular performance evaluations.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Over 7 years of experience in enterprise server support.
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership and team management.
  • More than 10 years of experience in AIX systems administration.
  • Familiarity with Middleware systems such as IBM Websphere and/or IBM MQ.
  • Experience in supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize critical processing issues.
  • Strategic mindset to anticipate future technology trends.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in a relevant technology field.
