ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a Process Plant Maintenance Millwright to become a vital part of our Process Plant Maintenance team, reporting directly to the Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor.

Detour Lake is recognized as Canada’s largest gold-producing mine, boasting significant reserves and growth potential. The mine is located in northeastern Ontario, within the historic Abitibi Greenstone Belt.

The Process Plant Maintenance Millwright will be tasked with executing mechanical maintenance duties to meet production goals safely and efficiently within the Process Plant areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Completing designated work orders with detailed documentation for team members to recognize work completion and equipment concerns;
  • Utilizing mechanical expertise and advanced troubleshooting skills to support operations and maintenance personnel in resolving daily equipment challenges;
  • Executing repairs on process plant piping;
  • Safely operating mobile equipment, including small cranes, man lifts, and forklifts;
  • Assisting in the commissioning of new installations and modifications;
  • Evaluating maintenance procedures and recommending enhancements for effectiveness;
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Reporting safety issues to supervisors for prompt resolution;
  • Participating in activities that foster a 'World Class' safety culture where safety is prioritized by all;
  • Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) millwright trade certificate or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or mining environment;
  • Additional welding certification and the ability to interpret blueprints is advantageous;
  • Experience with computer-based maintenance systems, particularly SAP, and familiarity with SAG/Ball mills and cone and gyratory crushers is a plus;
  • A strong commitment to safe working practices;
  • Experience working in remote locations is beneficial.
