Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Resource Nurse - LPN to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide clinical leadership and daily supervision to nurses and other healthcare professionals, ensuring high-quality patient care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care activities with the healthcare team to achieve pre-established patient care outcomes.
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients and families as necessary.
  • Make patient care judgments with other members of the care team by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Support and provide feedback to the care team in the implementation of individualized nursing care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of patient status within the unit/clinical area and notify appropriate personnel of any significant unusual situations.
  • Assist in the effective and efficient provision of staff resources to meet patient needs in the unit/clinical area.
  • Assist in the achievement and maintenance of nursing standards for professional nursing staff in accordance with overall professional and facility/regional standards.
  • Identify and recommend actions to improve the functioning of the unit/clinical area.
  • Promote and maintain a positive working climate within the unit/clinical area.
  • Coordinate specific components of a clinical program as applicable, including patient and family conferencing, discharge planning, and medication reviews.
  • Participate in the development and review of clinical regional policies and procedures.
  • Communicate patient status concerns to appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
  • Assist staff to maintain clinical expertise as new methods and techniques are developed and introduced.
  • Function as a resource to the public and other departments/programs regarding direct patient care activities.
  • Ensure documentation is complete and consistent with regional policy.
  • Coach and facilitate the performance of direct care providers in the designated area.
  • Provide direct clinical education to nursing and other staff within the unit/clinical area.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Manitoba.
  • Experience in a clinical leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of nursing standards and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
