Director of Platform Engineering

In the role of Director of Platform Engineering, you will lead teams dedicated to Cloud Operations and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Your primary objective will be to establish a secure and scalable infrastructure that facilitates effective application development and deployment. Reporting directly to the VP of Platform Engineering, you will be instrumental in advancing security practices and refining our development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a robust DevSecOps strategy that aligns with our SDLC, emphasizing automation, security scanning, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Design and oversee scalable cloud infrastructures, particularly leveraging AWS technologies such as EKS and Istio.
  • Embed advanced security protocols throughout the SDLC phases using tools like AWS Security Hub and KMS.
  • Advocate for trunk-based development practices while managing Cloud Operations and DevSecOps teams.
Essential Technical Skills:
  • Profound understanding of AWS services, EKS, and Istio architectures.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Significant experience with GitHub Actions, Advanced Security, and merge-queue functionalities.
  • Strong incident response capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in directing technical teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a proactive security orientation.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration and engagement.
