Health and Safety Specialist

Personnel Search Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the company's commitment to health and safety is upheld.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement proactive safety measures to promote a culture of prevention across the organization.
  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to employees and managers on best practices in occupational health and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and contribute to the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Track and analyze safety performance metrics and prepare reports for key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate and support the activities of Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate the processing of safety claims and support return-to-work initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field.
  • A Certified Occupational Health and Safety designation (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, CHSE) or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience in conducting incident investigations, hazard assessments, and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety training programs is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with online SDS management and incident reporting systems.
  • Experience in an agricultural or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
