Position Overview:
Our Toronto office is in search of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to become an integral part of our team. This role involves engaging in various projects within the Rail sector, including High Speed, Metro, LRT, and streetcars.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate directly with the Senior Management team in Toronto, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  2. Oversee design projects from inception to completion, applying a high level of technical and professional engineering expertise.
  3. Ensure compliance with National, Provincial, and Municipal Codes and Standards such as NFPA, OBC, and CSA, to guarantee that design documents meet established project criteria.
  4. Utilize experience in the design and hydraulic calculations of fire protection systems, including sprinklers, standpipes, pre-action, and clean agent suppression systems.
  5. Engage in client management, business development, and proposal preparation activities.
  6. Prepare comprehensive engineering designs, including calculations, specifications, and drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Fuel Systems.
  7. Manage aspects of project financial reviews, maintaining budgets, and adhering to delivery milestones.
  8. Review project construction and manage engineering correspondence related to construction.
  9. Conduct peer reviews of junior engineers' work and mentor a high-performing team of junior staff.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  2. 7-9 years of relevant experience in a mechanical consulting engineering environment.
  3. Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P. Eng.).
  4. Mandatory experience in the Rail sector.
  5. Experience in fire protection and fuel systems is essential.
  6. LEED Accreditation and experience in sustainable design are highly desirable.
  7. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP) or Trane TRACE software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
  8. Familiarity with MEP Revit is highly desirable.
  9. Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong inclination to collaborate and solve problems in a team-oriented environment.
