The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of British Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Teaching. This position provides the opportunity to pursue a career in our Professor of Teaching path focused on excellence and innovation in teaching and educational leadership in the intellectually stimulating atmosphere of a top-tier Chemical and Biological Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of courses within our three accredited undergraduate degree programs: chemical process engineering, chemical and biological engineering, and environmental engineering.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching practices that enhance experiential engineering training and learning outcomes.
- Provide leadership in educational activities, including curriculum development and implementation.
- Engage in educational leadership activities, including service to the University and broader community.
- PhD in Chemical and/or Biological Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
- Demonstrated or clear potential and interest in achieving excellence in teaching and learning, educational leadership, and broader service to the University and society.
- A starting annual salary between $110,000 and $130,000 CAD, depending on qualifications.
