Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Manager to join the Finance Business Partner team within the Management Analytics (MA) group in the Finance department.

The MA team provides financial insights and information on performance, costs, and exposures to facilitate management decision-making at both departmental and total Fund levels.

Reporting to the Director of Finance Business Partner, the selected candidate will support private investing departments by providing insights to enhance reporting, analytics, and understanding of investment performance, costs, and exposures.

This role is designed to develop a broad network across the Fund to collaborate and fulfill responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial analyses for investing departments to convey the narrative behind the numbers to stakeholders, utilizing data visualization tools.
  • Support the enhancement of analytical capabilities to derive insights on departmental performance and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Provide guidance during the annual business planning process, aiding in the development of budgets that align with departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Foster effective partnerships within Finance and across departments, collaborating with subject matter experts to drive financial analysis and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the team and across CPP Investments, including investing departments and the Office of the Chief Investment Officer.
  • Address ad-hoc business requests to support Board discussions and evaluations of investment programs.
  • Actively mentor and support the development of junior team members.

Qualifications
6+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and reporting, stakeholder communication, team leadership, and project management.

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional designations (CFA, CPA, MBA) are considered assets.

Strong presentation and communication skills with experience in creating compelling presentation materials.

Ability to blend a commercial approach to decision-making with a natural curiosity for detail, providing tailored solutions and recommendations.

Proven experience in SQL, Python, Tableau, and/or Power BI is advantageous.
