Senior Accounting Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Professional to join our accounting team at IAA, an RB Global, Inc. company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the financial close process, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the execution of internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Close Process: Lead the financial close process of certain North American subsidiaries, including review of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare Income Statement and Balance Sheet variance reports.
- Internal Controls: Assist in executing and maintaining relevant internal controls in accordance with SOX.
- Audit Support: Assist in managing internal and external audits.
- Shared Services: Assist in managing and supporting shared services functions.
- Ad Hoc Analyses: Support the Controller's team and other business partners with ad hoc analyses and projects.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- System Management: Assist in managing certain accounting systems and processes, including Great Plains.
- Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Education: BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional Certifications: CPA designation preferred.
- Public Accounting Experience: Public accounting experience preferred.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Great Plains and Oracle.
- Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting principles and practices and regulations, including US GAAP and SOX Compliance.
- Documentation Skills: Understanding of requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures, and memos, with a demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues.
- Project Management Skills: Effective project management skills.
- Professionalism: Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity, along with a high degree of professionalism.
- Travel: Limited travel may be required.
