About the Role

Safeway is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Relief Pharmacist to join our team. As a Relief Pharmacist, you will provide pharmacy services and support to customers, medical practitioners, and other retail pharmacies working shifts scheduled by the Relief Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services, including disease state management, medication reviews, and health risk assessments.
  • Prioritize technical functions to Pharmacy Assistants when available.
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document patient information.
  • Coach pharmacy students and Pharmacy Assistants (if applicable).
  • Collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Identify actual and potential drug-related problems.
  • Monitor medication adherence.
  • Provide patient counseling for new therapy and determine patients' understanding of their medication.
  • Exceed customer expectations through workflow efficiencies.
  • Acknowledge customers promptly and professionally.
  • Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards customers.
  • Provide superior customer service to every customer.
  • Responsible for understanding all PROfile offerings and providing each customer with the program that meets their health needs.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Above average communication skills (both oral and written), strong organizational skills and attention to detail, self-directed and able to work independently to meet strict deadlines, ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution, must be a Licensed Pharmacist in the province of responsibility, Injection Certification, previous experience in a retail and/or retail pharmacy setting preferred.
What We Offer
  • Hourly rate: $55.00 plus $2.00 premium.
  • Flexible schedule: 8 hour shift, day shift, evening shift, Monday to Friday, morning shift, weekends as needed.
  • Location: Kootenay Bay, BC (preferred).
