Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Education Assistant at École Squamish Elementary. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with diverse needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require additional academic support.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, as well as with classroom management and organization.
  • Help students with homework, projects, and other academic tasks, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as special education, English language learning, and classroom management.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
