Your Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist II to join our close-knit team in Whitecourt. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, you will have the autonomy to make clinical decisions and contribute to program development and operational planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area.
  • Provide supervision of students and team members as assigned.
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide leadership to other healthcare professionals.
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.
  • Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area.
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery.
  • Identify service needs and assist other medical staff with caseload management.
  • Participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
