Qualifications and Requirements

**Education and Training:**

  • Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • BC Cancer Systemic Therapy certification.

**Experience and Skills:**

  • Two years' recent, related experience in oncology nursing.
  • Basic Life Support, Level C certification.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and teaching skills.
  • Good judgment, observation, and patient/client assessment abilities.
  • Tact and empathy in patient interactions.
  • Prioritization and organization of patient/client care needs.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to assume in-charge responsibility.
  • Foster good public relations and communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Applying the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
