Job Title: Project Superintendent

At SDM Construction Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Superintendent to lead our construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall management, administration, and technical direction for one or more projects.
  • Enforce company and project policies, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including supervisors, subcontractors, and architects, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Process contract drawings and specifications, and ensure that buildings are constructed in accordance with these documents.
  • Manage changes, including contacting subcontractors for pricing, checking quotations, and itemizing changes for presentation to the architect.
  • Meet with owners and architects in a professional manner, communicating effectively on company concerns and interests.
  • Ensure timely payment for contract prices, including accumulative changes and credits.
  • Prepare regular, accurate billings for owners and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
  • Monitor project material and labor costs, and ensure accurate quality reporting.
  • Read, interpret, analyze, and forecast project cost reports, determining the status of the job in terms of schedule and costing.
  • Be aware of unit costs and monitor daily progress on site against project estimates.
  • Coordinate, manage, and communicate with all subcontractors, effectively dealing with problems such as delivery, labor, schedule, and payment disputes.
  • Ensure the project is in a positive cash flow position.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and minimum 5 years of experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, MS Office, and scheduling software.
