Family Physician for Opiate Recovery Services

The Opiate Treatment and Recovery Program is seeking a dedicated Family Physician to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will collaborate with skilled healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to individuals enrolled in the program. You will receive thorough mentoring and support as you integrate into our team.
Work Schedule- Clinics lasting 3 hours, scheduled up to 3 times weekly.
- Compensation is provided through sessional hours.
- Patient appointments are organized in 15-minute intervals, allowing for up to 12 clients in a 3-hour clinic. For those new to this specialty, initial appointments can be extended to 30 minutes to facilitate orientation.
- Flexible scheduling options are available, including weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly clinics, provided they are arranged at least one month in advance.
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Must qualify for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
