We're a newly formed co-operative, established by 19 NL dairy farmers, with a vision to be the first choice in the dairy aisle, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the local dairy industry.

We're building a local team that will operate the only dairy processor and distributor 100% owned and operated by Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks, ensuring the organization's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter financial transactions into the database
  • Prepare bank deposits, General Ledger postings, and statements
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Prepare reports as required

Requirements

  • Diploma in business, finance, or accounting; equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • 1+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other accounting principles
  • Payroll experience considered an asset
  • Proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office and accounting software
  • Experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with others
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
