Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a skilled Coordinator to enhance resident care.
We are in search of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to take on the role of Resident Care Coordinator. This position is vital for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor designated staff while coordinating resident care activities within a specific clinical specialty. Uphold a superior standard of resident care by serving as a clinical resource for staff, facilitating training and development, and providing leadership to the interdisciplinary team. Support the Manager/Clinical Services Coordinator in administrative tasks and optimize the use of resident care resources. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, educational resources, and other healthcare professionals to promote excellence in resident and family-centered care, education, and research.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with the British Columbia College of Nursing and Midwives (BCCNM). A minimum of three (3) years of recent, relevant experience in the specified clinical area. At least one (1) year of administrative or supervisory experience. One (1) year of clinical teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
In-depth knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a resident and family-centered care model. Thorough understanding of BCCNM standards for nursing practice. Extensive knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices relevant to the designated clinical area. Familiarity with other healthcare disciplines and their roles in resident care. Proven ability to provide leadership, supervision, and consultation. Demonstrated capability to teach, facilitate, and coach effectively. Broad understanding of research processes and methodologies. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to engage effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and other healthcare staff. Capacity to adapt to unexpected situations, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage conflicts. Proficient in clinical techniques and the use of relevant equipment and supplies. Competent in CPR techniques. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in computerized resident care information systems. Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.Additional Information
