WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Royal Bank of Canada's Climate Strategy team is seeking a Senior Manager to drive the development and implementation of sectoral climate strategies. This role will work closely with multiple lines of business to set climate ambitions and execute business strategies in prioritized sectors, including Energy, Real Estate, Agriculture, and Transportation.

Reporting to the Director, Sectoral Climate Strategy, the Senior Manager will enable the delivery of RBC's climate commitments by driving strategy development, project management, and analytics for emissions reduction target-setting. This includes supporting the development of sectoral climate strategies, conducting research and analytical work, and maintaining an enterprise-level roadmap of action in each sector.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Develop and implement sectoral climate strategies, including research and analytical work, to drive emissions reduction and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with multiple lines of business to set climate ambitions and execute business strategies in prioritized sectors.
  • Support the development of common enterprise-level frameworks and tools to facilitate sectoral strategy implementation.
  • Establish and maintain a knowledge and insights management function to stay up-to-date on key technical and strategic developments relevant to the mandate.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 3+ years of strategy experience in management consulting or corporate strategy.
  • Experience with quantitative economic and financial modeling.
  • Experience working in corporate sustainability and sector decarbonization.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving approaches and synthesis of key insights.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
