About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Processing Team Lead to join our team at VG Meats. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of our processing department to ensure efficient and effective production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the processing department to execute the production plan and maintain inventory.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of processing equipment and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and coordinate the use of the smokehouse and other processing equipment.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform production decisions and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct daily huddle meetings to ensure team members are aware of production goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement new products and processes to drive business growth.
  • Lead team members in their personal development plans and provide coaching and feedback.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; diploma in Meat Processing or related field of study preferred.
  • 3-6 years of experience in a food processing and/or manufacturing facility.
  • 3-6 years of equipment operation experience.
  • Ability to set up and operate processing equipment, including sausage stuffers, industrial grinders, and smokers.
  • Knowledge of meat formulation and recipe development.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
