Job Title: Welder Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter to join our team at Brampton Truck Centre. As a Welder Fitter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding and metal fabrication tasks to support the production of heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join metal parts together
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient production
  • Examine welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment to cut and shape metal
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping and bending machines to fabricate metal parts
  • Determine weldability of materials and select appropriate welding processes
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal parts
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g. welding, metal fabrication)
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
