Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UI Designer to join our team. As a UI Designer at Global Relay, you will play a critical role in shaping the visual language and user experience of our products and services. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly interfaces that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and evolve the look and feel of Global Relay's visual language, ensuring consistency and coherence across all products and services.
  • Apply human-centered design principles and best practices to create user interfaces that are intuitive, accessible, and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Develop high-fidelity mock-ups, prototypes, and graphic assets that bring our design concepts to life.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of design solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our design capabilities and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency in our design processes.
  • Participate in design critiques, feedback sessions, and workshops to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' needs, preferences, and pain points to inform design decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that design solutions are technically feasible and meet the needs of our customers.
  • Measure and analyze the performance of our design solutions, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in visual/UI design for web, desktop, and mobile applications.
  • Portfolio of relevant UI design work from shipped products, apps, or services.
  • Bachelor's degree in a design-related discipline (e.g., graphic design, interaction design, human-computer interaction).
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, human-computer interaction, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or other industry-standard tools.
  • Experience with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices and approaches, including WCAG and WAI-ARIA standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

At Global Relay, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $90,000-$110,000 CAD, plus a corporate bonus, extended health benefits, and RRSP matching.
