Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Services Manager to join our team at Prospera Credit Union. As a key member of our advisory team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with our highest value members, while providing back-up leadership support to the Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess members' financial objectives, risk tolerance, and unique needs to provide tailored advice.
  • Create holistic financial strategies that encompass investment, lending, protection, and omni-channel day-to-day banking.
  • Facilitate referrals to trusted partners, ensuring a smooth transition of the member while maintaining trust.
  • Onboard and initiate relationship conversations and introductions with new retail and business members that fit within the highest value member portfolio.
  • Develop and advance member relationships through the utilization of Financial Health Checks, pipeline management, and effective referrals to other Line of Business Specialists.
  • Contribute to positive member CEI scores through consistent adherence to the advisory process and adaptation of service.
  • Execute on holistic advice-based financial strategies by fulfilling members' complex lending, investment, protection, and day-to-day banking needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of member interactions, advice, and transactions, while adhering to internal policy, regulatory compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Have a solid understanding of registered products, including tax implications, and be comfortable developing strategies for term deposits to balance members' needs for liquidity and desired returns.
  • Support the execution of cash-related and other operational tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Assist in the supervision of compliance and audit responsibilities, including the management of ATM, night deposit processes, postdated and pending file management, cash and negotiable balancing.
  • Help drive outcomes through leadership in campaign management and reporting.
  • Provide back-up support for other advice center roles as needed.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or Equivalent and Business Administration or Marketing diploma or degree (a plus).
  • 3+ years in financial services with at least one year in an advisory capacity.
  • Experience with mortgage lending (preliminary credit assessments) and selling mutual funds (required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed to sell mutual funds (required).
  • CUIC 210 or equivalent internal training to be completed within 12 months.
  • Completion of or willingness to complete Financial Planning courses (an asset).
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, ability to effectively manage time.
  • Understanding of risk and mitigation tactics.
  • Demonstrated results and high performance in the RML or equivalent role.
  • Experience in a professional financial advisory sales environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Understanding of retail lending, including complex mortgages.
  • Superior understanding of investments, including proven experience selling mutual funds and developing holistic financial plans.
  • Ability to provide sound advice in a variety of member situations (medium complexity).
