Field Research Coordinator

- Oversee and manage the research tools and samples at the Nunatsiavut Research Centre and associated research facilities.
- Facilitate communication with research collaborators regarding their equipment and material needs.
- Implement effective strategies for collaboration and communication with research partners.
- Assist the Research Manager and Northern Contaminants Project Manager in executing their research initiatives.
- Conduct fieldwork for projects led by Nunatsiavut and its partners.
- Organize training sessions for staff and partners of the Nunatsiavut Research Centre.
- Support the operations of the Nain Community Freezer.
- Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of proposals and annual reports.
- Help coordinate community events organized by the Nunatsiavut Research Centre.
- Be flexible with working hours as necessary.
- Travel within Nunatsiavut and across Canada.
- Possess 15+ years of practical knowledge in land and marine environments, or hold a diploma in biology, environmental science, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Have 3-5 years of experience working in remote land and water settings.
- Demonstrate 3-5 years of experience in outdoor research environments.
- Possess some familiarity with handling research instruments.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills.
- Showcase excellent oral, interpersonal, written communication, and organizational abilities.
- Be an innovative and creative individual with a positive outlook.
- Have knowledge of Inuit culture and communities.
- Experience with computer systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with office equipment.
- Bilingual in Inuktitut and English.
- A qualified beneficiary of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.
