Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently seeking a Platform Engineer for Enterprise Platforms.
Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a vital role within a specialized team, driving our digital initiatives forward in an agile framework. Our agile model encompasses two key components – Digital Capability and Digital Execution. Digital Execution aligns various missions with business objectives and facilitates broader collaboration, while Digital Capability emphasizes individual growth within specific expertise areas. This dual approach allows us to efficiently scale agile practices while focusing on product development and personal skill enhancement.
An Enterprise Business Platforms Engineer is responsible for the development, deployment, and integration of software platforms that underpin our business operations. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, business insight, and a comprehensive understanding of platforms that support critical business functions such as CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and SCM (Supply Chain Management). The objective is to optimize these platforms to align with business goals, improve efficiency, and drive growth.
You will be at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions and will have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies in your field.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Development and Configuration: Design, develop, and configure business platforms tailored to our organizational needs, including programming and integrating various software solutions.
- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration between diverse business platforms and systems to enhance data flow and operational processes.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Regularly assess platform performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement enhancements to improve user experience.
- User Support and Training: Provide technical assistance to platform users, resolve issues, and conduct training sessions to ensure effective platform utilization.
- Initiative Execution: Actively engage in various initiatives, applying your specialized skills to achieve targeted objectives and deliver expected Value.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members across digital and business units.
- Continuous Learning: Pursue ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in your area of expertise.
- Innovation: Contribute creative ideas and strategies to enhance project outcomes and digital capabilities.
- Reporting: Regularly update your Capability Lead and team members on the progress of various Value Teams and outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Utilize analytical skills to address project challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality and consistency in deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
- 7+ years of extensive experience with ECC, S/4HANA, HANA DB, and related technologies.
- Experience with full life cycle migration, SAP upgrades, and installations across various environments.
- Proven ability to coach and build technical teams, guiding them through troubleshooting and performance issues.
- Hands-on experience with SAP components on Unix and Windows platforms.
- Experience in database backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Familiarity with cloud services and integration of SAP SaaS solutions.
- Working knowledge of the latest technologies and SAP certifications are advantageous.

- This position is remote and based in Canada.
