About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Microsoft Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art continuous integration systems to deliver device drivers and other technologies to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements and develop software developer tools to support other programs and applications.
  • Build, enhance, reuse, contribute to, and identify new software developer tools to create, debug, and maintain code for products.
  • Drive comprehensive application of automation within production and deployment of a product, ensuring high quality and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the implications of onboarding new technologies and ensure compliance with Microsoft's expectations.
  • Support other developers using continuous integration systems, including documenting best practices and providing guidance for troubleshooting build or infrastructure problems.
  • Ensure continuous integration systems run reliably within established tolerances with minimal manual human interaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 4+ years of experience working with continuous integration technologies and systems such as Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub, Git, Perforce, Subversion, CMake, TAEF, or GoogleTest.
  • 4+ years of experience developing, testing, and/or deploying device drivers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 6+ years of experience working with continuous integration technologies and systems including Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, CMake, TAEF, and GoogleTest.
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with continuous integrations systems including build, validation, and deployment.
  • Proven track record of creating and maintaining highly reliable mission-critical continuous integration systems.
  • Proficient communication/customer interfacing skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize issues.
