About the Role: As a vital member of our engineering team, you will oversee the management of capital projects at SSR Mining's Seabee Gold Operation. Your expertise will guide the execution of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring alignment with our commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of capital projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop project charters, cost estimates, and comprehensive business cases.
- Maintain project management systems and oversee quality assurance protocols.
- Facilitate coordination among internal resources, external contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Identify potential project risks and opportunities, developing proactive strategies to mitigate issues.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of capital projects, from initial planning through to execution and reporting.
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings to gather feedback and align project objectives.
- Implement a structured change management process to handle project modifications effectively.
- Generate monthly progress reports to keep senior management informed of project status.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A degree or diploma in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Geological, Chemical, or Civil) or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project or construction engineering, preferably within the mining sector.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
- Experience in industrial environments, including remote operations and shift work, is preferred.
Working Conditions:
This role operates on a rotational schedule, requiring travel to a remote worksite. The position involves extended work hours and may require occasional overtime.
